May 20 – 27, 2024, marked Bunji Travel’s first trip to Patong Beach in Thailand with our participants Ivano, Lynette, and Rob. This adventure, led by our support worker Ros, offered a perfect blend of relaxation, education, and cultural immersion.

Elephant Conservation Reserve

Bunji participants engaged in an educational tour of an ethical elephant conservation reserve that provided insights into elephant’s lives and habitats. They had the unique opportunity to feed the elephants and observe them in their natural surroundings. This experience allowed our participants to develop a greater sense of conservational responsibility towards wildlife and the environment.

The breathtaking Phi Phi Islands provided a fantastic opportunity for physical activity and social bonding. Bunji participants swam in crystal-clear waters, and relaxed on pristine white sandy beaches, allowing them to strengthen friendships and communication skills in a group setting.

The Big Buddha in Phuket offered a spiritual insight into Thai culture. The serene atmosphere of the temple and grandeur of the statue left a lasting impression on the participants and gave them insight into different religious beliefs.

Local Markets and Farms of Phuket

The group enjoyed shopping for fresh produce, handmade goods, and souvenirs at the bustling markets of Patong Beach. This activity enhanced their bargaining and money management skills while allowing them to experience the local culture firsthand.


Additionally, visits to a local bee farm, pearl harvesting farm, and cashew nut farm offered unique insights into Thai traditions and craftsmanship. It allowed our participants to explore new environments and learn more about local customs and practices.

Relaxation and Wellness Activities

Throughout the trip, participants indulged in traditional Thai massages and reflexology sessions. These wellness activities taught participants about the importance of self-care through relaxation and how it can be a positive stress management tool for their mental well-being.
